Our Open Days are a special opportunity to step inside Woodfield, meet the animals you help support, and see first-hand the work that goes on behind the scenes every single day.
They are about more than just opening our gates — they are about connection, education, and community.
During an Open Day, visitors can enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere while exploring the sanctuary, meeting some of our horses and ponies, and learning about their individual stories and journeys to safety. It’s a chance to understand what rescue really looks like and why long-term care matters so much.
Open Days also play a vital role in fundraising. Every Open Day helps raise essential funds that go directly towards the daily care of our animals — including feed, bedding, veterinary treatment, and running costs. These events help us continue our work while also keeping Woodfield accessible to the people who support us.
There is always plenty to enjoy on the day, including:
- A variety of stalls and small businesses
- Refreshments and treats
- Tombolas, raffles, and games
- Information stands about our work and how to get involved
- A welcoming space to chat with the team and volunteers
Most importantly, Open Days are about having fun while doing good. They are relaxed, friendly events where supporters old and new can come together, enjoy the atmosphere, and be part of something positive.
Every visit, every stall, every raffle ticket purchased helps us continue to stand by the animals who rely on us for life.
