Do You Rehome Your Horses?

Yes, we do rehome and loan some of the horses and ponies in our care.

However, Woodfield is also home to a high number of permanent residents. Many cannot be rehomed due to ongoing medical needs, and others carry past experiences that have left them unable to cope with life outside the sanctuary. For these animals, Woodfield is — and will always be — their safe place.

How Many Animals Do You Have?

Over the years, Woodfield has seen hundreds and hundreds of rescues pass through our gates.

Today, we are caring for over 50 horses and ponies here at the sanctuary — and that figure doesn’t include the many animals we have rehomed over the years, all of whom remain part of the Woodfield family and are checked on regularly under our ongoing welfare commitment.

Can I Come And Visit?

Visiting Hours
From 1st April to 1st December, our visiting hours are 10am–1pm.

From 1st December to 1st April, Woodfield is closed to the public for visits during the harshest winter months.

This allows our small team of just two staff members to focus fully on the welfare of the animals in our care, as winter significantly increases daily workload and care needs.

Please message our Facebook page in advance or give us a call before visiting, as we may not always be onsite. Our work often takes us offsite transporting horses and ponies, attending rescues, or responding to emergencies.

Do You Take Volunteers?

Yes, we do take volunteers.
