VOLUNTEER AT WOODFIELD

Woodfield is run by a very small team. We have just two members of staff caring for over 50 horses and ponies, each with their own needs, routines, and care requirements. Without the dedication of our volunteers, the day-to-day running of the sanctuary would be almost impossible.

Volunteers play a crucial role in helping Woodfield function each day. By supporting us with essential general yard duties, volunteers allow our staff the time needed to carry out the many additional tasks involved in running a sanctuary — including veterinary coordination, welfare monitoring, emergency response, administration, fundraising, and the behind-the-scenes work that ensures everything runs safely and smoothly.

Typical volunteer tasks include:

For volunteers who show commitment, reliability, and an understanding of safe handling, there may be further opportunities to:

Many of the horses and ponies in our care have come from neglectful or abusive backgrounds, so safety, patience, and following guidance from our team are always essential.

Volunteering at Woodfield is incredibly rewarding and plays a direct role in giving our animals the consistent care, security, and routine they rely on.

If you are dependable, willing to help, and passionate about animal welfare, we would love to hear from you.
